In the corpse-strewn streets of an abandoned mountain village, a surly adventurer finds himself at odds with a young girl and the malevolent force obsessed with her.
The graves are open, the church defiled, and the local beer's gone sour. But when the devil rides the wind and works the dead to speak, it will take a Mongrel Dog to put it right.
Lavishly Illustrated by Cj Franks, this is Matt and Melody Booker's first book of Flan, which follows their often hung-over wanderer as he encounters gods, devils, and the monsters in between.
--Series Info--
Far from the fires of castle towns and ports renowned, the wild edges have been bleeding. Deep forests beat with black hearts, lost cities howl with desert winds, and old temples shelter older shame. Stray far enough and shadows start to whisper luring words, of Dreaming Lands with different skies and different stars, and ancient shapes that hate and hunger through the veil.
To trod these secret places is the fate of Flan the Mongrel.
Each story is a standalone adventure that can be enjoyed in any order, all lavishly illustrated and vividly written.

If you like a good sword and sorcery adventure then this quick rough and tumble will make for a nice afternoon read. Good use of vocabulary but not ever presumptuous or wordy. The writers make use of contrast to paint the world of Flan, a completely redesigned hero with a back story that I can't wait to find out more of. Looking forward to more and hopefully longer forays into this world they've begun.Product details

The Witching Well eBook Matt Booker Melody Booker Cj Franks Reviews
Horror and fantasy fans rejoice we have a new hero to love. Matt & Melody Booker have amazed us with this creative work and I for one look forward to reading more about Flan. This book kept me enthralled until the very last page.
Clearly influenced by the likes of Rob E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft, Melody and Matt Booker bring us the the rough and tumble yet complex Flan. If you're a fan of horror, if you're a fan of adventure, it's worth delving into.
It was a wonderful story. The writing and creativity was superb. I'm looking forward to reading future adventures of Flan.
A fun fantasy story. There's some heavy prose description that might not be for everyone, but I found it worth it to get to the heart of the adventure. Definitely has potential to become a solid series.
I don't normally read what I consider fantasy books but I loved it! The incredible descriptions allowed me to see all of the characters perfectly. I can't wait for the next one.
Really wonderful story! It's easy to get caught up in Flan's world and before you know it the story is over leaving you wanting more. Absolutely worth your time. Read it, it's so good!
The author combines the likes of the original Conan stories by Robert E. Howard with the nostalgia-inducing concepts of the 80's sword and sorcery films, and adds just a pinch or two of H.P. Lovecraft in there for good measure. It's a dark and fast-paced genre romp full of mood, conflict, and the supernatural. It's also a light, quick read for those short on time. This story is perfect for anyone looking to walk through a good old fashion sword and sorcery tale. Recommended.
